Hi, I’m Alyssa—a Licensed Professional Counselor dedicated to helping you navigate anxiety, self-worth, relationships, and life’s transitions. Whether you’re feeling stuck in cycles of stress, healing from emotional trauma, or seeking deeper self-understanding, I provide a warm, collaborative space where you can explore your story without judgment.
Starting therapy—whether for the first time or the fifth—can feel vulnerable. I get it. My goal is to make this space feel safe, empowering, and yours. As Brené Brown says, “Vulnerability is the birthplace of love, belonging, and courage.” Here, we’ll honor your vulnerability as a catalyst for growth.
Therapy with me is a partnership. You’re the expert on your life; my role is to help you untangle the ways your experiences, relationships, and societal pressures shape your emotions and choices. Together, we’ll use your values as a compass to navigate what’s within (and beyond) your control.
I blend holistic, trauma-informed care with practical tools from CBT and DBT to help you:
Areas of Focus:
When I'm not in the therapy room, you'll likely find me indulging in life's simple pleasures - like leisurely wandering the aisles of HEB just for the cozy atmosphere (and let's be honest, the snack samples). I'm currently deep in my romantasy book era, always eager to swap recommendations about the latest dragon-filled drama. An avid animal lover with a special soft spot for misunderstood creatures, I'll never turn down an opportunity to gush over pet photos - especially if it features a possum! My daily routine typically involves the delicate balancing act of three beverages: hydration (water), energy (cold brew), and pure enjoyment (usually whatever seasonal latte catches my eye). If I had to pick one meal to eat forever, it would hands-down be breakfast tacos - give me a crispy bacon, egg and cheese with extra salsa any day. Around town, you might spot me at Polite Coffee sipping a Slapfight, indulging in the heavenly Bananas Foster French Toast at Stella's Southern Café, treating myself to 1541 Pastries' incredible tiramisu, or grabbing authentic tacos and conchas at La Espiga Dorada Bakery. These small joys remind me that healing isn't just about the hard work - it's about rediscovering the everyday magic that makes life worth living. A quote that guides me:
“Vulnerability is not winning or losing; it’s having the courage to show up when you can’t control the outcome.” — Brené Brown
